The foundation of this campaign comes from my concern for my God, my Jesus, my wife, children and family, extremely close friends, and my absolute concern for our community and our state.
The framers of the Constitution of the State of Texas formed the constitution with the idea and belief Texas was a free, independent and sovereign State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States. Our framers believed that local self-government was essential to the preservation of freedom, independence and sovereignty.
As a City Councilman for the City of Benbrook, I have full appreciation for these ideas and beliefs. Local self-government not only at the municipal level, but at the State level, is absolutely critical to our future.
Although there are many areas the Federal Government have been essential to our success as a state, I believe too much federal intervention is not conducive to effectively govern a state.
I will stand firm with you in protecting our states and local government's right to govern themselves based upon their collective and mutual interests.
